Dysport is an injection that uses a safe, purified derivation of botulinum toxin type A to relax the muscles. How Does Dysport Work?
Dysport works by blocking nerve impulses from reaching the muscles that are under stress. Stopping these impulses minimizes the expression of those muscles, causing them to relax and gradually smooth out the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead, around the mouth, or anywhere else on the face. The medicine is delivered at the injection site by a tiny injection pen.

What to know before you get Dysport?
Consider these things when preparing for Dysport:
- No aspirin, anti-inflammatory medicines, Vitamin E, or fish oil. It is best to avoid certain medications prior to receiving Dysport. The reason is that the medications can increase the chance of bruising and bleeding when injected with the medicine. Be sure to share any medications with us ahead of time.
- Incorporate greens into your diet. If you want to reduce the chance of swelling and bruising when the treatment is administered, some have found eating greens helpful. This will increase the Vitamin K in your system and work to reduce the potential for swelling and bruising.
- Do not have any facial massage, laser, or electrical treatment. After Dysport, your face will be very sensitive. Avoiding facial massage or cradling your face for 24 hours post-treatment is critical. Laser and electrical treatments should be avoided for two weeks following your treatment.
How long does it take for Dysport to kick in?
Dysport is fast-acting, though results vary; over half of users see improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows within 3-7 days.
How Long Does Dysport Last?
Dysport will last for about three to four months after your treatment ends. However, if you stop using it and then begin again, it will be effective again in about one month. The effects of Dysport will be temporary and will diminish over time if you do not receive a new treatment.
